It’s More Than A Model: Foundations of a Solid Biblical Worldview
"A worldview is a set of basic beliefs, assumptions, and values that arises from a big story about the world and produces individual and group action, what we call human culture." - Renton Rathbun
In a quick-fix culture, everything is designed for speed- fast food, speedy checkout lanes, next-day deliveries, high-speed internet, and even listening to podcasts at 1.5x speed. We may be accustomed to fast fixes and quick models, but how do we approach biblical worldview shaping in Christian schools? Is a 3-step model or an easy-to-remember acrostic enough?
When it comes to establishing and maintaining a Biblical worldview at your school, how do you effectively pass this along to your students? Is there a simple model to adopt? Will that guarantee results - or are there other vital elements to “doing it right” when it comes to biblical worldview shaping? These are some questions Jenny Copeland and Renton Rathbun, a classroom teacher for over two decades, will answer today.
Important topics discussed in this episode:
- What does worldview mean?
- What is a biblical worldview?
- What doctrines need to be in place with Christian schools?
- What are the basic three essential beliefs?
It’s not all about this model or that 3 step process for success. It is about aligning to a doctrinal standard. We need this now more than ever in our Christian schools.
We as educators are approaching a new school year, a new group of students, and a new opportunity to impact our students' lives. With establishing a biblical worldview, we can create an impact on not just the students but the community and even the world. Every day in the classroom is YOUR day to impact and inspire through God's power and His grace working in you.
Go do what God has called you to do!
“Biblical worldview should start with God, not us. This isn't our world in which God comes in and gives us instruction, but rather this is God's world.”
- Renton Rathbun
